Adobe Automatic Updates May Cause Performance Problem Turn Off

My customer had an intermittent problem with his computer locking up and after a little while unfreezing.

There was no obvious cause. When I was at his site, the problem happened. When I got to his computer to take a look, it was fine, but in the system tray was an Adobe update icon.

His internet connection is slow. Wonder if the Adobe update was the culprit locking up his computer. Turned off Adobe update. Will see if the problem happens again.

No good reason to have Adobe auto update on. Would be fine for auto update to run once a month, but not every day or how ever often it runs.

To turn off Adobe update, in Adobe Reader, go to Edit, Preferences, Updater. This setting affects all Adobe products.

You will then need to run the updater manually youself some time.
